Nintendo Switch 2 Is Getting Final Fantasy VII Remake and Bravely Default Flying Fairy

Two Critically Acclaimed Titles Come To Switch 2

During the Nintendo Direct presentation, Square Enix announced that two highly acclaimed RPGs, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster, will be available on the new Nintendo Switch 2. 

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is an expanded edition of the original remake featuring an additional story arc. Players follow Cloud Strife, a mercenary aiding the resistance group Avalanche in Midgar, as they confront the formidable Shinra Electric Power Company. This edition also includes the original story arc and FF7R Episode Intermission, which highlights ninja Yuffie Kisaragi. You can watch the announcement in the Nintendo Direct video linked below.

With over seven million copies sold worldwide, this release marks the series’ debut on a Nintendo system, introducing a new audience to this award-winning RPG.

Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster, originally launched in 2012 for the Nintendo 3DS, brings the beloved story and characters to the Switch 2 with updated graphics and new content. Players will navigate the world of Luxendarc, embarking on an adventure to save it from darkness with a diverse cast of characters.

This remaster features the innovative “Brave & Default” turn-based battle system, allowing players to strategically manage actions and defenses. With a job system of over 20 unique roles and an exhilarating soundtrack from Revo, Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster is a must-play for RPG fans. Players can look forward to getting their hands on the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
