Is Anime Fan-service The issue?

Fans are starting an uproar over the “fan service” in the anime DanDaDan. But compared to other anime’s of the same genre doing far more, are new fans simply more sensitive towards the Japanese created genre, or nitpicking which popular shows they criticize as a trend?
